Campaign to advertise a series of programmes following the massive construction project to rebuild the area where the twin towers once stood. The brief asked for an idea that incorporated both the history of great sky scrapers in New York as well as all the emotion of the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. My response was to recreate the famous 'Lunch over Manhattan' photograph with modern day construction workers sitting on a girder high above Ground Zero. Unfortunately just before the campaign was due to go to print, Steven Spielberg - the executive producer of the series - stepped in deeming the campaign inappropriate, and it was pulled.

One of the biggest campaigns of the year for Discovery - this off-air project took in billboards, bus-sides and print. The key word from the brief was authenticity - the public were not to be led to think that this was another 'I'm a celebrity...' and we needed to be able to establish in one image that there was no film crew involved. It was decided that a shoot would potentially jeopardise this so I trawled the HD rough cut episodes for imagery that I could make work. As the celebrities filmed themselves with cameras mounted to their upper bodies, there were plenty of portrait stills to choose from. The key was to find a look which demonstrated in some way the emotions experienced by the stars and to comp them into a suitable background wide enough for outdoor media. The final touch was to add an interlacing effect that added to the immediacy of the shots, giving a camcorder feel, and also helped to hide the pixelation that resulted from stretching a screen grab to fit a 96 sheet!

Shortlist ad to drive people to Discovery's website and advertise a new programme.
With a new web app in production offering viewers the chance to design and build their own 'Flying Wild Alaska' paper aeroplanes, the task was to create an ad to get them there. A cheeky headline was used over the flat unfolded diagram of the paper plane that would greet them on the website.

Discovery programme print advertsing campaign.Covering outdoor, press, and digital - this campaign promoted the remarkable achievement of Ed Stafford, who became the first person to walk the length of the Amazon. The task was to recreate the kind of jungle environment Ed battled for over 2 years - in a london studio - getting across severity and audacity of the endeavour, with a typically British sense of humour.

Event branding for TV conference and awards ceremony.
To mark 21 years of Promax (a two day conference and awards ceremony to develop skills and reward the achievements of people in the promotion and marketing of television) we decided to take the attendees on a trip down memory lane with this spoof trip through some of the most memorable broadcast logo treatments of the past 21 years. The identity hinted at the 80's inspired, neon clad, awards ceremony that completed the two day event.
